The Resort
Ranis Lodge is unlike any of the typical vacation rentals on the island; we tried our best to create a true intimate resort feel with lots of personal touches. Nestled in the hills away from the crowds, you’ll be immersed in nature surrounded by the beauty of the tropical jungle.
This is the perfect place for solitude and escape from the busy world. Our two hectares of land are shared by only 9 Villas, plenty of space for peace and quiet.
On many occasions, we hardly ever have more than 10 people staying with us and it happens frequently that you might have The Balai, The Hangout or even The Pool, all to yourself!

Ranis Family
Ranis Lodge is the realization of a dream from Anis Abidin and Reinhold Nagler, lifelong hoteliers with more than 40 years experience in hospitality. Following a career that took us literally to every continent, we bought our slice of paradise in Langkawi in 2012 and started to create our vision of the perfect blend of hideaway, island magic and embracing of nature. With the passionate help of our little daughter Ayesha, friends and family, we created Ranis Lodge over the years into a unique blend of resort, orchard and mini-farm that also happens to be our family home.
Considering our past, it is needless to say that we are passionate hosts and it is our mission to please our guest and make their stay at Ranis Lodge a memorable one. We are looking forward to welcoming you and sharing the tranquility and peace that we are so blessed to enjoy each day.
Giving Back
Ranis Lodge has been the culmination of our dreams after countless years in the hospitality industry. The creation of this little paradise was our gift to us, our family, our friends and last but not least, to our guests.
We strongly believe that giving should not end here, that Ranis Lodge should not merely be a commercial endeavour. We wanted to create a way to give back, to assist those less fortunate in Langkawi.
Starting in late 2018, we decided that all revenue generated from tour commissions will be donated to our local community, hence, “Book your Activities for Charity” was launched.
This is not a nameless organization where the funds disappear in administration costs, we ensure that 100% of the funds benefits the less fortunate. We collaborate with The Charity Club Langkawi and the various Food Banks, particularly during the trying times of Covid. Donations have so far supported a student to complete university, the purchase of school uniforms, payment for school transportation, food baskets, food aids and a few direct donations.
Our guests decide the amount to donate as we believe that giving should truly be from one’s heart. Leave your footprint in Langkawi by supporting us to continue giving back to the community.
